How to Add Color to Your Winter Wardrobe

Many of us can say that our winter wardrobe is dull and colorless. It’s easy to wear colors during the warmer season, but as soon as the weather makes us want to put on a few more layers of clothing, we get stuck.  Most of the time during the cold months, we end up wearing head-to-toe black, brown, and everything else from the “neutral” category.

I believe the way we dress directly depends on how we feel, and vice versa: The clothes we are wearing can control our mood. So, by simply adding some bright colors to our wardrobe, we can keep ourselves feeling sunny no matter how grey it gets outside!

I know that it is hard to incorporate colors when all you want is to be cozy and warm. I find myself struggling too, that’s why I came up with a few ideas on how to do it right.

1. Wear a statement making coat

This is the item that can make a big change in your wardrobe. The outerwear is such an important, and big, part of the outfit. A great coat can change your whole look, from dull to fabulous, instantly. Pick a coat in your favorite solid hue and your outfit will never look boring again.

Don’t hide away those amazing bright, summer pieces just because it’s cold outside. If the rest of the outfit is in the same color scheme in “natural” colors or just black you can add any, I repeat, any bright piece to it, and you will never go wrong.

If colorful clothes are not your thing, try bold accessories. This is a perfect option for those who prefer black, browns, and neutral colors. It’s amazing how a single bold piece can offset dark staples. You have so many choices to choose from, like cheery bags,  bright hats and beanies, colorful scarfs, or even a vivid pair of gloves. All of these items will add a pop of color to your outfit, without overpowering it.
